dc.description.abstract In this study, dynamic response and damage characteristics of hybrid laminated composite plates with surface cracks subjected to low velocity impact were investigated. The utilized materials were hybrid composites that consist of glass/epoxy and carbon/epoxy composite layers produced in different stacking sequences in order to investigate the effect of stacking sequence. Surface cracks with different shape and depth parameters were formed on samples and their effects on dynamic responses were examined. Low velocity impact tests were conducted on drop weight test setup. Dynamic responses of the plates and damage formation under different impact velocities and different surface crack geometries have been investigated.
