masterthesis.listelement.badge A critical prospect into working spaces for immaterial labour(Abdullah Gül Üniversitesi, 2019) MUŞ ÖZMEN, NİHAN; AGÜ, Mimarlık Fakültesi, Mimarlık Bölümü; MUŞ ÖZMEN, NİHANOffices, the workplace of immaterial labour, have evolved in various ways since the early 1900s. As a result of mobility that emerged with globalization, people started to use not only offices but also various places such as cafes and airports as workspaces and the concept of office has become more flexible. In the changing world, labour was no longer rigid, but flexible. Is architecture, which failed to fulfil its ideological mission after serving capitalism, able to respond the need of this flexible labour? Are the flexible spaces created by parametric design able to meet the need of flexible labour? Are architects going to be able to serve as ideologues of the society again through the forms they create with parametric design? In this study, starting from the concept of belonging, firstly the importance of place is investigated to understand the concepts of sense of belonging and alienation. Then, capitalism as the basis of today's work life and its processes are argued. Afterwards, movies are investigated to visualize the evolution of office spaces in order to see the change in office spaces. Finally, today's social structure, business life and the role of architecture are discussed with the influences of Tafuri, Sennett and Schumacher and through the movies (with future prospects), the expectations of the office users and the lifestyle predictions; the recommendations are made for future office spaces.masterthesis.listelement.badge MODULAR DESIGN APPROACH OF MASTER SİNAN'S SINGLE-DOMED PROVINCIAL MOSQUES(Abdullah Gül Üniversitesi, Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü, 2021) Hürmet Çopuroğlu Eset; AGÜ, Mimarlık Fakültesi, Mimarlık BölümüAs there have been several researches on Master Sinan and his mosque architecture, there could be some more innovative interests and potentials on them, spatial configuration in particular. It cannot also be defined clearly how this configuration operates in rural mosques rather than the 'selatin' mosques due to the fact that they are more visible in the public space. Hence, 4-single domed, five dome double arcaded mosques of Master Sinan located at different regions of Anatolia have been selected within the scope of this thesis. The mosques examined are; Tekirdağ Rüstem Pasha, Diyarbakır Behram Pasha, İzmit Pertev Pasha and Kayseri Kurşunlu Mosques. In addition to these mosques selection from different regions, more than one were examined analytically thereby further strengthening the basis of comparison. Architectural characteristics of these mosques were examined separately including support system design, changes related with environmental factors, dimensional characteristics, plan design, local effects. The data obtained as a result of these analyses were utilized for identifying the form of the spatial elements as well as their proportions. The parameters obtained from the analytical examinations were combined thus laying the foundations of the modular analysis method. The numerical parameters of the mosques obtained in accordance with this foundation along with the unit module were determined thus completing the modular analyses of these structures. The analyses were carried out for each mosque by first processing the proportional values in one and two dimensions as well as by considering the volumetric forms in three dimensions. Thus, the data acquired at the plan level were controlled at the cross-section and elevation planes in addition to evaluating different impacts. The findings acquired were assessed for all mosques separately and as a whole supported by figures and tables.
